Zamanın Zarafeti Boğaz’da GPHG 2025 Sergisi İstanbul’da!

Bu sabah İstanbul Boğazı’nın sakin sularına bakan Vakko Sumahan’da gerçekleşen Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) sergisi, yalnızca bir sergi değil; kültürler arası bir diyaloğun, ustalığın ve estetiğin ortak kutlaması.

Saat dünyasının en prestijli organizasyonlarından biri olarak kabul edilen Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), yüksek saatçiliğin kültürel ve sanatsal değerlerini uluslararası ölçekte tanıtmayı amaçlayan bağımsız bir vakıf tarafından düzenleniyor. Her yıl Cenevre’de gerçekleşen ödül töreni öncesinde, dünyanın en ikonik şehirlerinde finalist saatlerin sergilendiği bu özel etkinlik ilk kez İstanbul’a taşındı.

Türkiye ile İsviçre arasında diplomatik ilişkilerin 100. yılının kutlandığı bu anlamlı yılda Vakko’nun katkılarıyla düzenlenen sergi, GPHG jürisinin belirlediği 57 markanın 15 farklı kategoride yarışan 90 finalist saatini bir araya getirerek, yüksek saatçiliğin teknik ustalık, estetik zarafet ve yaratıcı tasarımla buluştuğu örnekleri gözler önüne serdi.

Açılışta hem Türkiye hem İsviçre’den önemli isimler söz aldı. Vakko Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Cem Hakko, bu etkinliği “zamanın sanatı” olarak tanımlarken, GPHG Vakfı Başkanı Raymond Loretan Türkiye ile İsviçre arasındaki 100 yıllık diplomatik dostluğa vurgu yaptı. İsviçre Büyükelçisi Guillaume Scheurer ise Türkiye’nin İsviçre saat ihracatında yükselen bir pazar haline geldiğini belirtti.

Kendi deneyimim açısından sergi, yalnızca bir tasarım şöleni değil; aynı zamanda saatçiliğin bir sanat dalı olarak nasıl yaşatıldığını görme fırsatı sundu. Zanaatkârlık, mühendislik ve estetiğin böylesine rafine bir dengede buluşmasına yakından tanıklık etmek, bu sabahı benim için unutulmaz kıldı.,

The Elegance of Time on the Bosphorus GPHG 2025 Exhibition in Istanbul

This morning, I found myself on the serene shores of the Bosphorus at Vakko Sumahan, witnessing a very special moment. The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), one of the most prestigious events in the world of watchmaking, has come to Turkey for the very first time—bringing the artistry of horology to Istanbul under the elegant hosting of Vakko. Organized annually by the Geneva-based GPHG Foundation, this traveling exhibition usually makes stops in cities like New York, Tokyo, Paris, and Singapore. This year, however, it arrived in Istanbul for the first time, with Vakko’s refined touch, the support of Garanti BBVA Private Banking, and the presence of distinguished international guests, turning the occasion into not just an exhibition, but a cultural encounter. Inside, 90 finalist timepieces—each representing craftsmanship, elegance, and innovation—were on display. Among them were some of the world’s most renowned names: Audemars Piguet, Bvlgari, Hermès, Grand Seiko, Piaget, Van Cleef & Arpels, and many more.

Thanks to a contemporary curatorial approach, visitors were able to interact with the pieces closely and appreciate the details beyond the traditional showcase experience. The opening also carried symbolic weight, with prominent figures from both Turkey and Switzerland taking the stage. Cem Hakko, Chairman of Vakko, described the exhibition as a tribute to “the art of time,” while GPHG Foundation President Raymond Loretan emphasized the significance of the centenary of Turkish-Swiss diplomatic relations. Swiss Ambassador Guillaume Scheurer highlighted Turkey’s growing role as a rising market for Swiss watch exports. From a personal perspective, the exhibition was more than a design spectacle; it was a chance to see watchmaking celebrated as an art form in its purest sense. Witnessing the delicate balance of craftsmanship, engineering, and aesthetics up close made this morning truly memorable for me. The GPHG 2025 exhibition will be open to visitors at Vakko Hotel Sumahan Bosphorus from October 15 to 20.
